Mother,

Today would've been your 90th Birthday, though sadly we cannot share it with you in person.

You had been in and out of hospital since the end of December 2018 and the last time you went in on the 23rd of June 2019, we were told that they could'nt do anymore for you. We nearly lost you that day but you was not ready to give up.

For the days you had to stay in hospital, I came every day and Diane came every night. Eventually, you told us that you wanted to come home when the time came.

On the 2nd of July we carried out your wishes and bought you home. Myself and Diane looked after you around the clock but on the 15th of August our world fell apart when you gave up your brave fight against your illness with us by your side.

The few weeks that we had left with you were so precious. Seeing you out of bed and sitting at the back door feeding the squirrels, as if it was the first time you were doing it brought tears to our eyes and asking us to get fish and chips made us smile.

So today we are celebrating your birthday at home with your ashes, Mum. You'll be sat on your chair near the front window where you loved to watch the world go by and we'll be reminiscing all of the good times that we had with you.
